Hi, I'm Rob
A simple, honest grab rail business for Melbourne. Just me, my van, and a lot of rails.
I install grab rails in Melbourne homes. That's the whole business. I don't do kitchen renovations, full bathroom rebuilds, or anything I'm not an expert in. I do rails, I install them to the Australian Standard, and I keep my pricing as transparent as I can.
I got into this work because grab rails are the simplest, highest-impact change you can make to a bathroom to reduce the risk of a fall. One install can change how safe — and how independent — someone feels in their own home. That's worth doing well.
What I believe
- Rails belong on walls, not on suction cups. Suction-cup "grab bars" fail in the conditions grab rails exist to survive — wet tiles, cold mornings, sudden weight. I only install permanent rails fixed to studs, noggings, masonry or structural ply. See my explainer → Suction vs permanent.
- Every rail should match the standard. AS 1428.1-2021 gives me the diameters, clearances, heights and load ratings. I follow it every time. See the specs → AS 1428.1 guide.
- Pricing should be clear enough to trust. I'll give you a ballpark on the phone or by email before anyone visits, and a written quote before I start work. No surprises. See my pricing page.
- OTs know what they're doing. When an OT writes a scope of works, I install to it. I don't up-sell or re-spec their work.
How I work
- You email me. I reply within one business day.
- I quote. Private jobs get a written ballpark quote; funded jobs are priced against your OT's scope.
- I install. Standard residential jobs are usually booked within the week, to AS 1428.1-2021 (subject to parts availability and my schedule).
- I sign off. Every rail is load-tested before I leave.
