Credentials and insurance
Occupational therapists and facility managers ask for these documents before referring a grab rail job. Here's what we require from our partner installer, and how to get the current set.
GrabSafe is a Melbourne grab-rail service. Installations arranged through GrabSafe are carried out by our independent partner installer: a local business holding its own ABN, public liability insurance, police check and WWCC. Your install contract, invoice and warranty are with the installer.
These are the documents we require from an installer before we put any work to them, and we ask for updated copies as they fall due for renewal. To see the current set for the installer who would do your job, email us at rob@grabsafe.com.au and we'll pass them on.
Public Liability Insurance
The installer holds their own public liability insurance. Certificate of Currency available on request.
Police Check
National Police Check held by the installer. Attestation available on request.
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Victorian WWCC held by the installer. Card number and expiry available on request.
Installer ABN
The installer operates their own registered business. ABN available on request; verify any ABN on ABR.
NDIS
Work for plan-managed and self-managed participants is accepted. Our partner installer isn't NDIS-registered, so NDIA-managed work isn't something we can take on. See our funding guide for what that means.
Rail brands
Australian-made rails where possible (Home Handrails, Canterbury Concepts and Bendtech are common brands), with imported rails that meet AS/NZS where Australian stock isn't suitable.

Why this matters
OTs, Support Coordinators, retirement-village managers and hospital discharge teams are responsible for sending grab rail work to contractors who hold valid insurance, WWCC and police clearance. We keep the paperwork current and easy to produce so referrals don't stall.
