Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information I collect when you contact me or use this website, how I use it, and how I keep it safe. I'm a sole-operator small business — the rules of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) don't strictly require me to publish a policy, but I do because you deserve to know.
What I collect
When you email me, ring me, or submit a quote request, I may collect:
- Your name.
- Your email address and (optionally) phone number.
- Your suburb and install-site address.
- Details about the job — number of rails, wall type, funding (NDIS, My Aged Care, SWEP, TAC, WorkSafe, DVA, or private pay), photos if you attach them.
- For funded work: your OT's name, your plan manager's details, and the scope of works.
When you visit the website, my hosting and analytics tools automatically collect technical data — your device type, browser, general location (city level), and the pages you view. This never identifies you personally.
How I use it
I use your information to:
- Quote your job and answer your questions.
- Coordinate the install with you, your OT, or your plan manager.
- Invoice the job (including to your plan manager or funder where applicable).
- Keep tax and compliance records as required by the ATO (seven years for invoices).
- Improve the website based on anonymous analytics.
Who I share it with
Your information stays with me. I only share it when I have to:
- With your OT, plan manager, or funder (NDIS, CHSP, HCP, SWEP, TAC, WorkSafe, DVA) when you've asked me to quote or invoice funded work.
- With my accountant and the ATO, for tax records.
- With my hosting, email, and analytics providers, in the normal course of running the website and business.
- If required by law (subpoena, court order, or regulator).
I do not sell your information, share it for marketing, or pass it to third parties for advertising.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into jobs are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Completed-job records (quote, invoice, before/after photos, load-test sign-off) are kept for at least seven years, which is the ATO's retention period for invoice records.
How I keep it safe
Email and files are stored in password-protected accounts with reputable providers. I don't keep hard copies unless you've given them to me in person. I don't hold payment card details — payments are processed by the card provider directly.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to:
- Tell you what information I hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your enquiry details (outside of tax-record obligations).

Analytics and cookies
This site uses simple analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. It sets a basic cookie to do that. No advertising cookies, no remarketing, no third-party trackers.

Complaints
If you think I've mishandled your information, please email me first at rob@grabsafe.com.au so I can fix it. If we can't sort it out between us, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

I'll update this page if anything changes. The "last updated" date at the top shows when I last revised it.
